For High School and College Athletes
- Provide counsel during the recruiting process and/or the transfer portal process:
- Determine the priorities of the student athlete
- Decide on the best fitting school
- Explain the appropriate NIL value for the student athlete based upon his or her specific set of circumstances
- Answer all NIL-related questions
- Prepare student-athletes and their parents for official and unofficial visits, including the appropriate questions to ask
- Communicate with schools directly on behalf of the student athlete
- Legal review of contracts and negotiation with all NIL vendors including school collectives
- Protecting the student athlete’s Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights
- Preventing exclusivity language
- Reducing term length
- Limiting the student-athlete’s responsibilities under contract
- Maximizing the amount owed in compensation to the student athlete
- Ensuring that the School or University complies with the contract provided to the student athlete
- Outlining the responsibilities of each party to the contract to the student athlete in an easily-digestible fashion
- Maximizing tax efficiency and compliance based upon the locations available to the athlete
- Forming the appropriate legal entity (LLC or S-Corporation) when necessary
- Tracking income and expenses to arrive at the optimal taxable income
